fun fact there was a canceled pc98 version of telenet megami tensei and while it was deleted from later marketing material, the manual still has references to the abandoned port

@Forestofenchantment it's for the msx, x1, pc-88, and fm7. There was to be a pc-98 port but it was shitcanned due to issues developing it from what I heard.

The MSX port is downgraded, but it's how people outside Japan played it (and they weren't fans). It's translated now.

@Forestofenchantment the other problem with it was, Atlus also developed a Famicom game of the same name, based on the same source material. It was not only more successful but also far more influental, and Atlus (due to how Japanese laws worked on copyright) ended up getting the full game rights to it and made a sequel loosely based on it, and then Shin Megami Tensei on the SNES and a ton of sequels/spinoffs.

As the series went on, it drifted from the original source material, which was about summoning demons with computers.
