@RustyCrab@eidolon i mean some level of sugar is good for bread but i get what you mean. hippie stores are insanely priced and honestly low quality, go to import stores. like id get things at mexican/asian/russian wtv shop but mainly russian import stores cuz im eastern euro. they're gonna have better prepackaged things shipped in from sane countries, often times even of the same products there (like in hispanic ones you can often find more healthy versions of the same shit thats already available shipped over from mexico) and they also tend to all include products made by the local minorities. like id buy really good bread either made in house or nearby in russian tradition and then i could find locally made like doctors sausage and shit you dont normally find in us either. sometimes in really strong groups of minorities you can find whatever local normal market store and itll be like, a normal little shop and just randomly have all this imported shit. like in auburn wa cuz of all the slavs shops would randomly have all this russian cuisine and shit. or in omaha i remember a literal fucking gas station was stocked with imported russian goods instead of the normal stuff lol
in parts of the states ive also had good luck with walmarts bakery, winco's, and fred meyers (preferring the latter)
as for raw ingredient you can but they're generally not. im speaking of chemicals from pesticides and other treatments, how animals are fed and kept, growth hormones, things like this. its not super hard to find things like hormones missing but pesticides and poor feed are much more difficult to avoid
