@eidolon depends. could mean a few things. half&half is common, or other milk cream things, or if they're an american, they have these "non dairy creamer" there that are like, basically a syrup and copious amounts of corn syrup and fucking disgusting diabetes in a bottle and they fill like half theyre fucking cup with the shit i hate it so much, nobody ever uses real cream there for it btw even milk in coffee is rare

@RustyCrab @eidolon but i mean i get why americans use it. good healthy food and shit there is more expensive than it needs, sugars addictive, people work long long hours often with little time or energy to cook. and when you cant afford say good coffee you can brew some shitty burnt garbage in your machine and pour in your high fructose corn syrup till you cant taste it. many such examples. and when so addicted and harmed by the sugar and the chemicals and what else your kept rather under and complacent. it gets to a point eating a healthier diet can cause stomach issues! when ive travelled between u.s. and eu i would always get horrible stomach issues and poor appetite for the first maybe half a week or so, no matter how healthy i ate or didnt, just because of the sheer amoutn of how the chemicals in us foods (even raw ingredients) fuck you up
its my personally believe this is an intentional effort by the us government in colloboration with its store and food production monopolies also putting extra pressure on farmers so such chemcials are needed to make ends barely meet. and thats why the healthy shit is so expensive and hard to find aswell because it has to cover up lost cause on behalf of the farmers. its just another way to keep you under much like the crime the media the povertry the class divide the corruption all that

@RustyCrab @eidolon i mean some level of sugar is good for bread but i get what you mean. hippie stores are insanely priced and honestly low quality, go to import stores. like id get things at mexican/asian/russian wtv shop but mainly russian import stores cuz im eastern euro. they're gonna have better prepackaged things shipped in from sane countries, often times even of the same products there (like in hispanic ones you can often find more healthy versions of the same shit thats already available shipped over from mexico) and they also tend to all include products made by the local minorities. like id buy really good bread either made in house or nearby in russian tradition and then i could find locally made like doctors sausage and shit you dont normally find in us either. sometimes in really strong groups of minorities you can find whatever local normal market store and itll be like, a normal little shop and just randomly have all this imported shit. like in auburn wa cuz of all the slavs shops would randomly have all this russian cuisine and shit. or in omaha i remember a literal fucking gas station was stocked with imported russian goods instead of the normal stuff lol
in parts of the states ive also had good luck with walmarts bakery, winco's, and fred meyers (preferring the latter)

as for raw ingredient you can but they're generally not. im speaking of chemicals from pesticides and other treatments, how animals are fed and kept, growth hormones, things like this. its not super hard to find things like hormones missing but pesticides and poor feed are much more difficult to avoid
