dumb fucking question but when you're worried about a future event do you like... make a note about when you actually have to start worrying about it in a calendar so you can stop actively worrying about it now? Like "there is nothing you can do until this date so don't think about it until this date"
@RustyCrab if it's like a month away i'll be like "in less than two months i won't care about this anymore cuz x, y or z" and just think about what life will be like in those two months
hopefully better!
ganbatteeee
@shibao@RustyCrab even simpler for me
“danger isn’t real until you’re in it, and then it’s still just danger and not a catastrophe. you can deal with it.”
@RustyCrab When I was in college, I was terrified by the future events, but nothing bad ever happened, I eventually learned that I was pure shit at predicting the future, and have since then often, just forgotten about concerning things in the future.
I recently had one come and go, and I can only laugh, because it took care of itself.
I've already wasted too much of my life worrying about the future, so I push others to abandon the future and forget about it xD
@hazlin I am a schizo in that I unironically believe that bad events will happen unless I think about them. I know that sounds retarded but Ive accumulated enough anecdotal evidence that I can't shake the feeling. This has pretty much resulted in me being the ultimate pessimist.
However, if there is genuinely nothing at all I can do about an event, I write it down in a log of "bad shit I can't do anything about and the date it will probably effect me". It does nothing to make the situation any better, but it makes the worries into a concrete list rather than having a backlog of vague nebulous things I'm in fear of and I can't remember what they are.
I used to be (cripplingly) like that (it's OCD, btw)
Bf has taught me to have plans.
I get all of my "what ifs" out on paper and we cross them out one by one as we come up with solutions for them, should they come to pass.
Now I trust that since we're so adept at vanquishing the "what ifs" on paper far beforehand, we can certainly do it on the fly (and we have!).
It takes practice. You can do it!
Best of luck, fren :blobcathug:
I am sitting on the surface of a pool of darkness, there are some open areas, but there is darkness hanging all around.
What lay beyond the darkness? I am unsure, you can hear people scream sometimes, or sometimes you'll see someone run through an open area where I can see them. They are always panicked, rushing from somewhere or something, to somewhere else.
They stop and talk to me sometimes, sometimes to warn me that I need to hurry or I'll get eaten up.
When I tell them that the bad things don't come here, because the darkness will kill them, they immediately leave.
I'm not sure if I always knew that this dream meant...
It isn't that the world isn't terrifying, it is that the spirit of God is more terrifying.
I meant what I said about forgetting about the future, but honestly knowing Jesus is even better. The more clearly you see God, the smaller your problems become, until you can't be bothered to spend your time thinking about them.
