Did the ease of access to information for video games on the internet ruin video games?

_Blank_,

@Awoo Youtube has been a disaster for games. If a game is popular there will be 2 billion "HOW TO BECOME OVERPOWERED FAST" videos which 90% of the player base seems to follow. It's also created the "fan" who's never played the game. Wikis/guides are also an issue, mainly with how so many players will follow them step by step because they're scared to miss something.

@Awoo I'd say it's a double edged sword. On one side, it's invited secondaries and people who make clueless judgements about games based on what a Youtuber (kill video essayists) or meme said and people being hipster faggots about video games.

On the other, it's been helpful to learn more about a game/series you wouldn't know just from playing normally like secrets or it's development and finding people that have an interest in them back when game communities didnt suck. So nah I don't think it's ruined them.
