@Tony@ruin from what I'm reading on his thread, they also sent him CP (over fucking discord) and impersonated federal agents. Obviously he's not going to have any security on his phone so all those messages are wide open. The trolls probably aren't that bright either and likely failed to use any sort of anonymization tech.
Have you watched the lore? They pretended to be some 16/17 year old pop star and then daniel started sending them nudes and it turned into a huge mess. And yah, it happened on discord. It was pretty much the trolls pretending to be some girl and then Daniel got obsessed and thought it was real.
