@disabled all of the results would be published into the public domain with extensive replication instructions. The purpose would be dual, to both try longshot theories, and to do proper debunkings of failed ideas.

the tl;dr is that their are a lot of viable versions, that work on completely different paradigms. Many patents have been issued over the last 100 years where some are illustrated. And, Patrick Kelly has the best compendium of these devices. His website has a simplified document that covers many.
The rules for not getting shut down are, stay away from anti-gravity, don't file for a patent, and don't try to build and distribute them at scale.
The mechanical ones are given more leeway than the solid state electrical versions.
And, have fun, you can build a nice over unity joule thief circuit probably within a day.

Naa, they are just evil. They are already using certain over unity devices in commercial products. Mainly around LEDs and lasers.
They don't want to break the consumer slavery paradigm.

At the end of the day, you'll have people that do enough experiments to convince themselves (I am here), people that pursist until that build something that is useful (1 mW to 1W is my best to date), and everyone else that stops at starting with an concept that states, input is 100% of the available energy, and refuses to go farther xD
