@Eiswald@Awoo@Seth_Wachhaltamittel@SuperSnekFriend@Giganova8 I liked it enough when I saw it years ago to buy and read the light novels the anime was adapted from; the books are like twice as good as the anime as far the story goes, there's a little bit of a difference between the LN story and what the anime shows.

Spice & Wolf is one of the few Japanese (qausi-historical) fantasy works that doesn't just put modern Japanese minded people back in time, they actually behave like pre-modern Europeans for the most part, with the different social norms and all. Don't expect any liberal calls for fairness in it (thank God), Lawrence's often greedy merchant ways are really only tempered by some sense of a Christian moral framework and care for some of the people he meets along the way, Holo included.
