I'm curious what you guys' predictions are for the tournament. Christi shared his thoughts a few days ago. Here is the tourney bracket in PDF form. Share your own filled brackets here and let's so who can get it right.
No, there won't be any prize or anything else special for getting predictions right to ensure there's no incentive to cheat and ruin the tourney. This is purely for fun.
=================================================
MATCH #1: 1. MEGUMIN VS. 32. AYUMU "OSAKA" KASUGA
Let's try that again
Here we are Fediverse. We have finally arrived to main tournament, and with that, the very first match of the main tournament.
Let the games begin!
** 1. Megumin / Konosuba **
Of all the girls, many have speculated either Holo or Megumin would win this tournament, before it even officially began. Of all the girls nominated, Megumin is the one to reach beyond the 30's in total weighted points. She also had the most nominations, with the only one having double digits. Posted constantly on the Fediverse, as both a meme and as a cute and funny anime girl, taken as waifu by several Fediverse users, and from a consistently great series, we have high expectations for this tiny isekai witch.
Megumin is the great witch of explosive powers and chief member of the Crimson Demon. A massive chuuni, she fits perfectly with her misfit party of Kazuma, Aqua, and Darkness, always trying to one-up everyone in spectacle and achievement, but often her attempts end in hilarious Though she is immature, she does care for her family; and despite her mistakes and failures, she is still a very powerful girl. If you can I M A G I N E and love cunny witches, vote for Megumin.
** WCTB 32. Ayumu "Osaka" Kasuga / Azumanga Daioh **
Osaka barely made it to the main tournament. She only won by a few points for a wild card tie breaker again Miia that itself was only conducted due to a coin flip. It would be a lie to say Osaka has anything more than a miracle of a chance to beat the number one seed today. But stranger things have happened on the Fediverse.
From her Royal Rumble match:
"Ayuma Kasuga, nicknamed Osaka from her town name, is opposite of the Osakan loud-mouth and lively attitudes. Kasuga is a spacey, slow, and quiet girl who takes it easy with life, including hanging out with her high school friends. She always states the obvious even if the obvious is stupidly simple. Always sleeping, she still knows how handle the toughest challenges well, like the English class mid-term or the school's sports festival. Even if she is not the brightest, Osaka still knows how to be a good girl and helps her friends in all their crazy school antics. Vote for her if you love lovable ahos."
If the main tournament's intro has not been posted by this match's time, then please note: The Baest account is only there to help keep accurate poll tracking and viewing, among other technical things, nothing more. The account is not a replacement for Mugicha and this account remains the main tourney account. Please refrain from following that account, sharing the poll threads directly, or using the Baest poll thread itself for discussion.
Hey guys!
I've been felling better today. If that trend continues tomorrow, I'm gonna write all the info for the main tournament tomorrow and other stuff. The new plan is to start the first match either Thursday or Friday.
#BestAnimeGirlTourney
I legit don't know who most of these characters are now. Some one let me know when the actual tourney is starting. AwooConfused3.gif
There will be a break after the final match finishes on Christmas Eve. The main tourney will probably start next Friday or New Year's Day depending on how I feel and what I can accomplish during the break.
@SuperSnekFriend Mister Snake Friend, I'm afraid that you credit my fellow fluffy-tail enjoyers and I with a level of organizational prowess that we simply do not possess. This fanciful "mafia" you propose, one that presumably guides outcomes of competitions such as these towards what you forthrightly imply to be an otherwise unjustified level of mofu appreciation? It would require a level of coordination and loyalty between disparate parties that, frankly, rather beggars belief.
There's no Fluffy Tail Mafia, Mister Snake Friend, the lack of which one hopes shall not have to be made clear by more... intimate means should these rather unkind imputations continue.
This thread will explain the basic Royal Rumble rules, will have the current roster and results spreadsheet attached that will be updated after each match or final tiebreaker, and will announce the winning girls of each match.
>The Stakes
Four girls will fight in each match with a specific theme that connects all four girls, with only the winner moving on to the main tournament. The purpose of the Rumble is to make it harder for any particular series to dominate the tourney and to whittle down an already large roster to something more manageable to keep the tournament engaging throughout the planned month-and-a-half the tourney is active.
The main tourney seeding for Rumble girls will be determined by sorting by how well a winning girl won during this Rumble, with any tied seed strength being broken by coin flip or die.
>In Case of a Tie
If the top two girls are tied at the end of a poll, then a one-hour poll blitz will be posted until one of the two girls wins. If three or more girls are tied for the Royal Rumble poll, then there will be a six-hour extended poll, followed by any necessary hour tie-breaking poll blitz for the top two. Due to both technical reasons (below) and medical reasons, I may not post the tie-breaker poll once a poll is over, so please be patient.
>Anti-Hate Voting, Anti-Rigging, Anti-Bitching Rules
I have been mulling over this ever since the idea of this tourney was in my head, because of what happened during Christ's contest. Ultimately, I think such rules are usually gay, potentially zapp the fun for innocent people, add burdensome complexity for me, and do not always accomplish the goals of those rules due to the nature of the Fediverse; HOWEVER, the behavior of some of you niggers during the vidya girl contest, especially late contest towards Nintendo and Touhou fans zapped the fun out of the contest for many more than if a rule was hypothetically in place. If I see this behavior en masse again in my tourney and think the risks of the rules are worth taking to preserve fun and peace, I will do it.
Needless to say, don't be a nigger or a bitch and give me a reason to think about adding such rules. Ever!
>My favorite girl lost the Rumble. It's all over. :KonataCry:
Do NOT fret! There will be four wild cards that will still enter the main tournament and will be chosen either as the top four losers or by a special circumstance that you, yes you, may cause through concerted effort to push you girl into the main tourney. Work hard for your girl to help her against all odds!
>Where's the link to the Plemora version of the post so I can view the exact numbers like Christi's Vidya Girl Contest?
Mugicha does not have a Plemora front end and does not allow remote view of the direct site for non-members. Poast does have both and will be used by the host to get exact exact the raw poll numbers, but the Plemora front end's federation with poll outside Poast is not greatest with keeping up with real time data, so results may be delayed for several minutes to an hour after a poll ends.
If Poast's plemora does give accurate real time numbers, then I will post an update every four hours.
>I don't like the pictures or descriptions you used for my girl(s)
>I think what's in the poll post is causing unfair bias
The poll and girl listing in post and poll is ordered by the nominations and alphabet. I will admit being a flawed human and a babe in terms of enjoying anime and otakuism, so what I deem to be a high-quality picture or good description may not be to others.
Even if a poll started, I can modify the description paragraph and picture used to your liking if necessary. You can also go here: https://poa.st/@SuperSnekFriend@mugicha.club/posts/AcVqiuYCw78yBNLY4O or search for this account and going to the bottom pinned post to suggest a description and pictures before your girl's or girls' match
After some consideration, I won't be hosting the first #BestAnimeGirlTourney#ROYAL_RUMBLE poll today or tomorrow. I'm letting people view the full roster list and make their complaints while having time to making a document that makes tracking the ROYAL RUMBLE easy.
I have figured out a tentative roster list of who will be fighting who, according to themes. As I said before, the top two groups are set in stone and won't be budged, but the rest you can complain and argue that a girl is better grouped in one or another.
THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO HELP YOUR GIRL(S) GAIN BETTER ODDS BY CHANGING THE ROSTER SEEDING. Once a poll is a day away, the tentative rosters will be set in stone and nothing barring technical issues will change that.
