I want nothing to do with neighbors. Nothing. They are a variable in an equation that doesn't need to be evaluated in the first place. I have lived in my current place for six fucking years and not talked to my neighbors once, except the one wacko from across the street who stole mail and had a screaming fit on my property.
She was very lucky I was in Germany at the time or she would have had a fair chance to have been gunned down by yours truly after attempting to break in the rear glass door. I still have the video from three of my seven cameras of the incident. I would have been happy to oblige her, because it would mean she would never come on the property again, being in a casket and all.
I expect to be happy, carefree, and safe at home, and other people up in my shit completely breaks that tranquility. That's why I want land, and lots of it, because then I can secure my own living space properly from such variables and have a reasonable buffer from others. I currently live on five acres in the forest and it is bliss, and it is absolutely one of my primary sources of strength and clarity. It is the reason I can do so much and build so many things, completely focused.
And even then, sometimes this is not enough. While writing this entire tirade I noticed a Ford Explorer, possibly police, slow rolling by my property on my cameras. I stopped what I was doing, grabbed my 8x binoculars, turned off any background lighting, and spied on them. I could have posted this 15 minutes ago if I hadn't had such a distraction, but what could a cop being doing in the dead of night out here? Have I finally earned my FBI party van after all these years of hosting servers at home perhaps? All I know is, if I was further away from civilization, that would not have happened unless I was truly their intended target.
If I want to talk to someone, neighbor or not, I will reach out to them first in almost all cases. Or if they must get in contact with me they can send me a letter. Or email me. Whatever. Just don't come near me and remind me of your presence. I will socialize when I want to socialize, on my terms.

You ever go to a nonexistent subdomain on lain.la or maybe even try to punch in the IP address of an edge node? I have some cool security tricks there that I haven't seen anyone else do before...
Oh, and since I'm using a wildcard A record and a wildcard cert, I can spin up subdomains anywhere I want on any name and they'll be completely hidden from DNS but still function 100% thanks to the aforementioned tricks.
