What's the law of nature called where you sit on a page and it won't load but the 200 millisecond window between clicking x to give up and the page closing is when everything finishes loading and you can see it all for one blink of an eye
@icedquinn@Terry Capitalism is dependent upon a continuous stream of cheap labour. Pure bred westerner's standards have become too great for the factories, farms, and other lowly job positions. The West needs new blood. And that blood is coming from the third world.
@icedquinn@Terry Nor do consumers want to pay the vastly increased prices that would occur if higher wages were to be given.
Would you want to pay an additional $5 for an originally $3 product? No? Figures. And has come to this conclusion several hundred years ago. We are simply continuing the cycle of exploitation upon the more vulnerable and exploitable races.
@icedquinn@Terry Such an economic transition you are proposing would be extremely painful, complex, and something that I doubt could be feasible considering the competence of our current leaders.
Used to have a similar train of thought in middle school about this, but threw away the idea due to having no counterargument or solution to the frankly massive switching costs and the decades long transitional process before the effects and positive results could be felt.
market: :blobcatbeer: we're just gonna build like ten parking spots and then charge you to use them and people will just pay more if there's not enough and idk i guess you just won't park if you can't afford it
government: :blobcatbigcomf5: 50% of land development must now be parking lots.
