I saw a domestic dispute earlier, idk really what was going on, i crossed the street so i didnt have to deal with it, didnt look like any one was being hit or stabbed, just property damage to car, so i just ignored it
@a7 I witness a domestic at least once per week downstairs but it doesn't seem like the guy is actually doing anything. The woman is just screaming and then playing loud music and screaming bloody murder to the chorus like a methed out teenager
From watching a lot of devlogs and seeing how the games end up, it proves that game design is a real skill. It's hard to objectively measure, like writing quality, but it exists. Anyone can build a rogue-like - even a pretty one - but it does take skill to come up with a fun one.
Many people just copy popular game formulars (rogue-like, 2d rpg, metroidvania, factory sim).
Thinking like:
"my game has iron, copper, smelters, belts and assemblers! It must be fun"
But thats not true.
@ruin no but I'm betting it's based on a true story.
Basically a guy gets accused of bombing a bar on behalf of the IRA (he's innocent) and the last 25 minutes of the movie has just been the police torturing him
@hazlin when programmers were banging rocks together to edit text, strict adherence to getters could be useful for refactoring. Now they just get in get in the way by providing many access points that aren't easily searchable
@ruin@mangeurdenuage my mom almost fell for one of those scams the other day and already volunteered sensitive info before she realized it. Really sad since she was making fun of people who did a few years ago.
