@RustyCrab @sneeden if you want a harley or heaven forbid an indian you're going to be paying out the ass but there are plenty of affordable jap bikes and the used market for jap bikes was fantastic until covid. now 80s bikes that would've been $600-1000 on craigslist before want $3500 which is ridiculous when you can buy a brand new dual sport for $7000

@binkle accessibility is the gayest shit ever, if you want to supply it that's nice of you but I'm not paying a cripple tax when I'm writing software. it's enough work as it is

plus most devs aren't even equipped to do a good job at it. the fuck do I know about making something "accessible" to deaf people, or blind people, or people with only two fingers, or whatever? that sort of translation layer should be layered on top, separately, by experts

nobody expects an author to translate his work into braille

I noticed the local box store locked up all the bulk copper wire this year. they're the assholes purposely trying to hire blacks from the city and giving them free rides to work, too. I wonder if they made the connection between that little initiative and the giant spike in retail theft

I figured out awhile ago that my wireless problems with specific machines correlate with the wireless router changing channel/bandwidth; the wireless driver chokes until I break the connection and let it reestablish itself

I haven't tried to fix it, because it's intermittent enough that it's not worth much effort. but I am curious if the channel changes are predictable, like does it usually happen early evening on a saturday because everybody in the neighborhood starts watching netflix at once. so maybe I will write a script that watches for AP changes and pulls them out of the general logfile for my perusal later

also it makes me want to put fuckin RF shielding on my house
