Archive-dot-org says the DNC emails were "internal server error" on Wikileaks since early 2023. Archive-dot-ph doesn't have any records between Nov 2020 and this month. PirateBay has a DNC email archive torrent that's quite actively seeded.
I'm aware archives can be fabricated, and that fake torrents can be hosted, but the idea that Wikileaks deleted the DNC Email archive just now at the same time Assange was released is a very shaky narrative.

Project Zomboid became a lot more fun when I started metagaming. I survived 2 weeks and set up a secure base stocked with supplies. When I got infected, I dumped all my gear & clothes in the safehouse and holed up in a ruined house across the street, then killed myself.
Respawning in the same map, I made the exact same character in the same city. Map notes persist between characters, so I can easily find my zombie clone, kill him, then return to the safehouse to pick up my gear and game on again.
The Odysee people are suddenly popping off on TwiXXer, and I'm not sure what to make of it. They're being very vague and cryptic, but apparently they're claiming that they set up a new company called "Space Odysee Inc" and bought the remains of Odysee when it was auctioned off late last year.
I honestly don't know if this is them drumming up hype for some new venture, or if this is a legitimate attempt to address the failures of Odysee/LBRY in the past, but I want to keep my eyes on this.

My opinion of BitDeMoney is starting to go down... according to their new terms, you only need to do phone verification if you want to buy over 10,000 yen per month, and under that e-mail is sufficient. That sounded fine to me... small purchases being spread out over time works just as well.
But now, I find that the Rakuten Pay gift cards under 50,000 yen are all out of stock. I contacted their support to inquire, and was told "Rakuten cards are more difficult to get these days, so we're focusing on restocking large value cards only". That sounds like bullshit to me... I haven't seen any shortage of them at the conbini, and some of them actually let you choose the charge amount when you pay at the register.
So I suspect that the site is keeping the low value cards out of stock intentionally and only restocking the 50,000 yen ones to force users to register a phone number. If true, it means the site operators aren't as anti-regulation as I thought they'd be, and are cooperating with the authorities to pressure the users instead of the other way around. Either way, disappointing.
Today is release day for 「トランスジェンダーになりたい少女たち」, the JP release of "Irreversible Damage". After going to two branches of a major bookstore, and one smaller local one, I was told that they didn't carry the book. In the major chain's case, I only had the say half the name or just show the image of the cover to get an answer... the staff were clearly aware of the book, and were ready for the inquiry to deny it so quickly.
I'm inclined to believe this is driven by fear, given the arson threats, but I have to admit this is speculation. Tomorrow there's some other bookstores in the city center I'm going to try, but I may have to resort to buying it online if that comes up dry. Further report on this will be submitted tomorrow.

So I hear Stripe is deep-sixing Poast, and just recently Gumroad, Patreon, and Fanbox are all walking on eggshells because of the credit card corpos. Did something happen, or did the entire payment processing industry decide to get worse overnight at the same time?

@moi@waifu Ubuntu Focal. That's what caught me off guard... I figured it would Just Work (tm) in basic bitch Linux, but it didn't even half run. Proton, Wine, Lutris, no compatibility layer... it all just crashed or froze up.
@moi@waifu I'm guessing the general instability of Palworld itself does nothing to help matters. It won't always run stable in its own native OS, emulating it is just adding more opportunity for it to shit itself.
@RustyCrab@thegreatape@creamqueen The forced Win10 upgrades was my last straw... I played around with Linux stuff before that, but never seriously. It wasn't until I felt like control was being ripped out of my hands that I felt willing to take the full plunge. Nothing left to lose at that point.
