ano, in Anyone still uses/used Keybase?
@ano@burggit.moe avatar

I used keybase briefly a couple years ago. Got bad vibes from some of the people I met and didn’t stick around. Had the same experience with some Matrix chats I’ve come across.

I love finding Loli communities but I prefer to keep barriers between myself and any cp or irl content, as I am not interested in viewing or sharing such content. I felt like I was just one wrong click away from seeing something dangerous on some of those places. Much prefer Burggit’s style.

That said, if you know of a chill community I wouldn’t mind checking them out!

MattWalsh, (edited ) in Do you guys prefer the Burggit Sharkey instance or this Lemmy instance?
@MattWalsh@burggit.moe avatar

Honestly I don’t really care whether some website works more like Reddit or Twitter. What I mainly liked about Burggit was the focus of privacy and free speech, so I might consider joining the Sharkey instance.

What other instances does it federate with? I like that Burggit didn’t censor RQD2, and although the method to post from Mastodon to Lemmy is a bit scuffed if it still works with Sharkey that’s honestly fine by me.

@Burger@burggit.moe avatar

The only instance we defederate is Meta’s threads.net, and we intend to not defederate any other instances, barring any illegal imagery that comes across our feed.

I’m not 100% certain that this is how to do it, but for Lemmy instances, I believe you should be able to trigger a federation with your desired community by searching @communityname and following that account. Since to the fediverse, the threadiverse just shows up as individual accounts for each community.

Saw the same. Kinda expected a pinned post or something now that it’s back up explaining what that was about but nothing.

I was starting to think that I was the only one who saw that message 🤔

For a while I thought that Burger might’ve just decided to shut down this instance after all ;u;

boredcraft, in Do you guys prefer the Burggit Sharkey instance or this Lemmy instance?

Please let both. The kbin instance was not much easier to maintain? This instance is the only one who supports loli content(in reddit format I mean). Would be very, but very empty for us who wann draw and share loli art without the risk of banning?

Federation is pretty much broken from Lemmy to Mastodon/Misskey/Pleroma and their respective forks. So all we can get is this watered down content from the Lemmyverse from the few instances that still haven’t figured out our existence, as well as the ensuing defederation that will surely follow once they’ve found out about us. From where the fear came about being discovered by others? Baraag hosts lolies, ALOT (not being a problem, since I support the freedom of speach and art without shity morality for a drawing), andfor that mastodon instance was not a problem being discovered. Are you afraid that someone will report this instance with the fucking reason of hosting UNEXISTING ILLEGAL CONTENT WHICH IS NOT IN FORM OF DRAWING which will nuke every server you manage and eventually you? I can understand very well your feeling.

But againg, my opinion (since you asked us), is to have the both worlds because the burggit is the only instance as reddit, whcih supports the nieche content which others does not have the balls/clit of steel to maintain it. Hat off to you

soulnull, in How did you hear about Burggit?
@soulnull@burggit.moe avatar

My reasons for picking this as my home aren’t because it’s loli friendly, but also because it is. I’m tired of people getting mad about others opinions and thoughts. I don’t particularly like certain content advertised as welcome here, but that’s the point. I’ll never call for a ban on people having their own places to share their thoughts. I don’t have to like what you say to defend your right to say it, and this instance seems to share this stance. Standing up for unpopular speech is how I found this place. People need to chill and let others exist to share their ideas, good and bad, so people can make up their own damn minds on who they are or aren’t.

Don’t be a dick goes so many ways, including the stripping away of voices from those that others may not like. So here I am. Happy to be here.

Agreed 100% it should not be the job of a corporation, platform or otherwise to decide what you can/cannot see. To decide what you can’/cannot say. To decide who you can/cannot be or who you can/cannot associate with. People should be allowed to think for themselves, make their own decisions about what and who they want to associate with and participate in.

Very glad you found us and we’re happy to have you here. Hope you enjoy your stay!

Exactly. If I dislike something or someone, there’s this magical little button I can push to make it disappear from my screen. I don’t need someone else to push that button for me, so thank you thank you thank you for maintaining sanity in an insane world.
