I think the reason people drinks Starbucks is that it has the highest caffeine ratio of any fast-food coffee. I guess they choose beans bread for caffeine and didn't care it tastes like shit.
@bot@djsumdog@animeirl Starbucks has had a severe dropoff in my area in thr last year or so. So much so that 3 of their locations had to shut down. Thats something I've never seen in my entire life.
@bot@RustyCrab@djsumdog@animeirl starfucks has so many locations even kroger has one in most of their stores, there's a kroger with one across the street from a target with one, and a kroger with one down the street from a meijer with one here.
@bot@djsumdog@animeirl no they closed in the last year and a half or so. If you go to one here now they are almost always empty. Their actual sales reports say that they're only slightly off targets so I am wondering if they're doing like Disney does and launder sales. I doubt my town is just a huge statistical anomaly.
Hey @mushroom_soup have you had a big dropoff in Starbucks traffic?
@mushroom_soup@djsumdog@bot@animeirl Starbucks here used to have lines going out the door nearly all day and now they're practically barren. I feel like that can't just be where I live
@RustyCrab@djsumdog@bot@animeirl we’ll see we have three main customer bases: businesspeople in the city, teens, and nogs. The teens are the only ones who would potentially care about woke shit
@RustyCrab@mushroom_soup@animeirl@bot@djsumdog Only been twice, first time I went in 2015, the line was so great I had to wait 30 minutes just for a cookie! Second time was more recent, I was the only customer in the store despite it being rush hour. A fad dying down, perhaps?
@Forestofenchantment@RustyCrab@djsumdog@bot@animeirl see the thing is that Starbucks is currently in an identity crisis. They want to have the atmosphere (and prices) of a nice coffee shop but they make their money by being a fast food mccafe Baskin Robbins. Corporate will never admit that that’s what the company is now which means that they don’t actually have a strong direction for the company to go in
...vs going to Dunkin for a cheap mediocre coffee served by unpretentious losers who are legitimately grateful when you tell them to keep the change.
America runs on Dunkin.
Starcucks was a fad all along, just like the k-cup shit. Except the k-cups at least have practical use in an office environment, or at home with extremely lazy people who dont care about low quality coffee.
> Starbucks baristas have no delusions about the quality of drinks
My niece worked at Starbucks in college and went on about how good the coffee actually is .. and brought her dad some specialty Starbucks neospresso capsules on Christmas .. she's a school teacher now.
