@RustyCrab lmao, the best part about this
if you do it too many times, denuvo will lock you out
cause every time you do it, denuvo considers it a "new install"
@zero stuff like that always gets mandated by business contracts written by people who are living on a different planet than the consumers. 0% chance its going away.
@zero@RustyCrab back in dragons dogma 1 you could switch to hard mode and it would restart the whole game like a new save i wonder if thats still possible or are they gonna add hard mode later with the DLC like they did with dragons dogma dark arisen
@zero@RustyCrab if u guys are wondering maxed out with a 1070 and a i7-7700 i can barely get 30FPS in the post tutorial area if i turn everything off and turn on super duper preference FFSR i can reach 60FPS but its not steady
@RustyCrab@zero i wonder if using certain spells will cause massive frame dips like it did for dragons dogma back on the 360 and especially ps3 some spells pushed so many particular effects on screen it could turn the game into a slide show so im curious if that will happen again
@RustyCrab@zero one thing i will say is the basic bitch sword and board vocation is a lot of fun and it seems like theres a lot more depth so gameplay wise it seems theres a lot to look forward too as for magic im not sure but if sorcerer is anything like dd1 it should be really flashy
@RustyCrab@Zergling_man I just started playing cyberpunk last weekend and it knocked my socks off, it's the best grand theft auto I have ever played. It's better than san andreas
@RustyCrab But yeah like... I don't think there's been a single AAA game in the last... Maybe even 10 years that hasn't launched without DLC on day 1, had some kind of major bug, some DRM controversy, woke shit, etc.
@RustyCrab@Zergling_man bro I played farcry 6 and it was so bad. 200gb of just shit man they absolutely had to have rpg elements with item rarity and special abilities fuck this shit man
@RustyCrab@Zergling_man seriously though that was my favorite part about pacific drive was how beautiful the game was. It had a lot of accessibility options too that let's you enable/disable certain aspects of the game so you could play it however you want. I highly recommend
fun fact: i remember someone on a linux place pointed out how they installed a game with obviously uncompressed textures, but they had BTRFS compression on, so the filesystem compressed the game to like 40% of its size :lmao:
@mischievoustomato@RustyCrab@creamqueen@Zergling_man compressing game textures is woozy because the gpu doesn't speak jpeg-xl. you get a much worse compression rate, like 25%, with the compressors designed to work on GPUs.
there's basis universal that tries to do both. i haven't tried it but godot supports it now
@mischievoustomato@RustyCrab@creamqueen@Zergling_man if the texture is completely uncompressed then it will be about equivalent to converting them all to PNGs, since that's literally what a PNG does. Maybe a few bytes bigger or smaller for zstd.
@mischievoustomato@RustyCrab@Zergling_man@creamqueen i know dwarfs does an even more aggressive job; it does nilsimsa similarity hashing on blocks, so it sorts all of the blocks on the filesystem by how similar they are which then allows the zstd pass to be more aggressive.
but that's a thing made by a madman designed to store 200 perl installs. it's not something you can readily ship a game on.
