me: after trying various things on the menu, i have determined that this item is my favorite, and i will only be ordering that item from this point on!
i think the issue is that peeps are treating the eris thing as a black and white issue. i dont blame you for fediblocking disqordia. she is a problematic individual at times. i too, have silenced her instance temporarily.
a lot of the evidence presented to me contains lingo that i dont fully understand. i dont know who a lot of these people are, but i will admit that i am seeing a lot of dogwhistles.
but also, the people who are threatening me for even associating with eris dont really sound that great to side with either and are basically telling me to "fall in line or suffer the consequences" without actually thinking things through.
the other thing is, when i ask for the evidence to be explained to me in detail, because i dont actually understand whats going on in the screenshots, im told thati should, by default, understand the evidence. and that me not understanding the evidence is, itself, problematic.
@ashten people can be complex creatures. this is usually a good thing :blobcatmelt:
i wouldn't worry about the unreasonable people. they run an 'all or nothing politics all the time' game. trying to appease them will only end in suffering. and these people see dog whistles everywhere like they do nothing else but study ways to get offended.
try to be decent when you can. it's the only thing we can really do.
okay, now that im home, i get to tell you what happened. and tbh, i feel pretty badass, and im happy that everything lined up just perfectly to get this result.
WW03.5, we received a heavy workload, so i enabled the automations i had been writing the last several months.
WW04.2, i was informed i was being laid off in two weeks
WW06.2 (yesterday) was supposed to be my last day at intel. however, my boss dropped the ball, and never informed me how to actually return my laptop, despite asking him multiple times.
WW06.3 (today):
my boss called me at noon:
hey ashten. i know you still have your laptop. i need you to log onto it and answer some questions that i DMed you really quick. also, once you've done that, i need you to drive to the JF3 campus and return your laptop before 4pm.
i logged on, and his DM said ticket i created i created on WW03.5 was incorrect. so, i looked it over. the only mistake i made with it was that i had accidentally misattributed the color. it was supposed to be a blue release, not an orange release. so, i corrected it and DMed him that that was the only mistake i made.
(yes, i agree, this color system is confusing. this is why i made that mistake in the first place.)
i hopped in the car and spent an hour driving to JF3. i had only been to JF3 once before, so it was new to me.
as soon as i rolled into the parking lot, i got another call from my boss. i told him i was JUST about to return my laptop.> oh, uhm, really quick, before you do that, i need you to log on really quick and answer a few more questions i had.
there's no wifi in the parking lot (of course), so i hop out and head to the JF3 lobby and scan my badge. the badge scanner alarmed, however, and after some back and forth with the desk attendant, i guess my badge was already deactivated, but since i still needed to return my laptop, they would be providing me a security escort.
while i waited, i sat down in the lobby and booted up my laptop.
dm from boss:> okay, but how did you manage to do 450 test cases in 8 hours??? that shouldnt be possible!
(most technicians complete about 50-100 TCs per day if they push themselves)
escort:> hi ashten! im here to escort you to return your laptop!
me, replying to my boss> yes, those are all test cases i automated, and thus, were all completed within 8 hours.
my security escort is here now, so that's all i can do for you. good luck!
i shut down my laptop, and let security escort me.

when two girls infodump at each other about the same topic at the same time, and it seems like they're talking over one another, but really, they're just testing that their knowledge on something is identical.
