Ages ago I worked in IT, but the world moved away from my skills so I ended up a long haul cross border trucker for a bit, now I work in the semi trailer yard as a shunt driver. I have ordered paints and airbrush stuff. I should be ready to go next week!

Went with the Fanatics Mega Set. It was bloody expensive. But the smaller kits were missing too many colours I already would know I want.

I’ve got some other basic kit stuff already, and then, I’m off to learn another new skill.

hmm well the ffmpeg devs are pretty solid

@icedquinn Setting up an XMPP server isn’t something I can do at a drop of a hat – I don’t know the first thing about it, for one thing, nor do I presently have the server resources or the finances to get some.

Cee knows how to get hold of me, if he really wants to. As much as I’m glad to hear Cee is still out there doing his thing, he has to wait in the queue like everyone else.

it turns out they've been stealing from each other the whole time. jackson made a game called the fantasy trip in the 80s for another company, champions doinked stuff from it, then jackson had to make a distinct clone of his own game and doinked stuff from champions to make gurps.

Here is a fun story about Champions. A buddy of mine met his wife on Champions Online. Which wasn’t a terrible MMO, really. I remember it let me make a super hero who’s super power was they owned a machinegun.

@icedquinn Ooooh Quinn you have no idea how badly SJG broke my heart when they bailed on V4e. Like, it’s been decades and my soul is still in pain over this. I was engaged TWICE and had my heart and dreams SMASHED and neither of those hurt as much as when SJG abandoned V4e.

I barely remember those people, but V4e. :blobsob:

There is a ok “spaceships” system with people just brute adapted to other vehicles though, and it comes with a spreadsheet that does all the math.

@icedquinn A nice feature I liked with gurps was they sold all the books as properly indexed and searchable PDF’s. This was a really handy feature sometimes.

Also the character creator was really good.

I never really looked at fate or anything else, after all my meatspace friends shotgunned themselves to different parts of the planet it all fell off.

@icedquinn I think Hero was on my list too. I never had the chance to actually investigate it though.

But I’ve always massively favoured “generic” rulesets that can be used for anything from fantasy to ww2 to space.

And it needs a complete vehicle system capable of making anything reasonably well.
