@dispenser @skye The arrow on the left is meant to symbolise the underrepresentation of transgender, black, and brown people in the LGBTQ community, but its placement is meant to symbolise the lack of progress

However, I do agree with you that adding extra onto the flag just makes no sense

I have seen a version where there’s a bisexual triangle on the right, which makes no sense because bisexuality is represented in the original Pride flag itself (and also implies something about bisexual identities???)

At this point though, I don’t see why we need to add extra colours and shapes without overloading the flag with meaning

I think the Progress Pride flag as it is is probably the “best” evolution of the original Pride flag, just because it deliberately chooses to highlight those under-represented groups in the queer community

Played some Lethal Company VR with @lea

Unfortunately, the battery on my headset ran out lol

It was still mildly terrifying and I actually screamed in fear when I fell off a cliff

There was a point where I heard growling and I moved my head all around to try to pinpoint it and I swear to god

I also saw a turret and I managed to move out of the way before it came for me, however, the fear of seeing it in 3D with my own eyes was enough to make my arse jump up into my chest

If I got killed or eaten by something, you bet I would have actually emptied my bowels in fear

In what is… Actually pretty fucking awful, it turns out that the Birmingham city council does not owe the 750 million in unpaid wages that has been bandied about, but could be as low as 250 million. The 750 million figure was apparently just conjured out of nothing????

Unfortunately, the city council and the Government’s stooge that’s now overseeing the city’s operation are acting as if the 750 million figure is real, and therefore the city’s budget has been culled and curtailed accordingly, including cuts to libraries, arts, social care, and flood defences.

So an imaginary figure that nobody is actually sure comes from some kind of economic truth is being used to justify some of the most insane austerity on this city :haggard:

It’s obvious that English-speaking countries like the US and UK can outsource their work to places like India, South Africa, and the Philippines

But where do Spanish, French, German/Austrian, and Portuguese companies outsource their work to?

  2. The Booster. Boosts lots of posts. Most of their profile is boosts. They use Fedi like a content aggregator. They have nothing much to say, but they share what other people say.
  3. The Reply Guy. Thinks the Fediverse is like a university debating society. Will always take your post with a maximalist interpretation, regardless of what your post is about. Does not understand that you don’t need a devil’s advocate for your post about what sandwich you should get.
  4. The Content Farmer. Despite the lack of algorithm, these accounts seem to “borrow” posts from other platforms and only exist to farm engagement. This ranges from dedicated, but ultimately useful, accounts (eg Memes From Outside Fedi) to people who copy the text from Tumblr posts and pass them off as their own.
  5. The Bidenist. They’re harmless, just annoying.
  6. The Memer. The lifeblood of any social network. The Fediverse is a place for metaphorical stand up comedy, and for sharing the most snarky satire you’ve seen.
  7. The Normal. Very rare. Just a regular person. They log in every few days, and then go back to their lives. They don’t even know what a Fedi Meta is.
  8. The Computer Toucher. They speak in acronyms; words that you think are from the dictionary, but have another meaning; and in monospace text. They are constantly posting about something that goes beep and sometimes goes boop. They don’t post about much else, if ever.
  9. The Diarist. This person uses the Fediverse to talk about their day, their dreams, their hopes, their thoughts. The Fediverse is a place to take these things from their brain and into written form. They don’t seem to care if anyone notices, but they don’t also mind that people comment.
  10. The Meta Lover. This account seems to post endless essays about the Fediverse, for some reason. Like, they solely seem to post about it, and not in an interesting, thought-provoking, or creative manner. Just pure essays about nothing.
