Derek (Gorf proprieter) wants 10,000/month to continue his operations and "development" on his site and PeerTube instance, which he claims to have built himself.
He uses the exact same software (Soapbox/Rebased) as NCD and NCTV (PeerTube). I have never seen such a pathetic grab for money and notoriety in my fucking life. The software that runs his service is free and open source. He didn't even change anything on his PeerTube instance other than install a light theme and fail to size the instance icon correctly.
In case you don't understand what I'm saying here:
Captain Gorf slapped together a PeerTube and fediverse instance that uses the exact same software that we do, claims that $10,000 per month wouldn't even cover his time spent in "development" (changing colors via the admin UI) and then claims that every other fediverse instance is a grift because they don't built anything, they just use free code

@matty@BattleDwarfGimli@jill i didn’t bother looking into anything to do with it. his reaction to me saying “gorf is retarded“ (because it is) told me everything i need to know about that site. he was so assblasted he was trying to insult any and everything about me/poast even down to asking for money for my “little server” (two 64 core/128 thread epycs)
