Does anybody have a thunderbolt docking station they can PERSONALLY recommend? Do not just google and paste it here. You need to have used it to verify it's not a piece of shit.
I need:

  • two monitor displayport (THAT ACTUALLY WORKS -- it usually doesn't even if the specs say it does)
  • one HDMI port
  • will plug into linux AND windows and work
  • 3-4 regular USB slots

@RustyCrab @kaia I've had the same problem with my phone. Tech sheet says that it supports Displayport out via USB-C. But 80 dollars in cables and adapters later, nothing has worked.

@PurpCat Unlessssssssssssss the game was too obscure for any pirates to take notice. As is the case for my favourite retro game, Ballistics. To which nobody has cracked the anti-piracy protection of needing the CD in the drive on start-up. Rendering digital copies useless for preservation.

But in this case, nobody wins as the developer, Grin, went bankrupt in '09.

@PurpCat Most people aren't even 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘦 that after-market servers are a thing. Much less be willing to learn how to access them. Perhaps the most successful after-market vidya server is Mario Kart Wii. Which averages around 100 players, and those servers are widely known among the Wii hacking community and takes less than 5 minutes to access them on OG hardware.
