They expressly use very specific wording. Here are some examples.

Federal law prohibits the production, advertisement, transportation, distribution, receipt, sale, access with intent to view, and possession of any CSAM, including realistic computer-generated images. (They even underline the “Including realistic computer-generated images.”)

Individuals have been known to use content manipulation technologies and services to create sexually explicit photos and videos that appear true-to-life

In November 2023, a child psychiatrist in Charlotte, North Carolina, was sentenced to 40 years in prison, followed by 30 years of supervised release, for sexual exploitation of a minor and using AI to create CSAM images of minors. Regarding the use of AI, the evidence showed the psychiatrist used a web-based AI application to alter images of actual, clothed minors into CSAM

In November 2023, a federal jury convicted a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania registered sex offender of possessing modified CSAM of child celebrities. The Pittsburgh man possessed pictures that digitally superimposed the faces of child actors onto nude bodies and bodies engaged in sex acts3.

They are using terms like “True-to-life“, “realistic computer-generated images” and “actual, clothed minors” These specific details are exceptionally important when talking about legallity and I’m of the opinion they’re included for a reason. There are so many things in terms of legality which are vague, they do not have to include these details, some of which they specifically underline.

Also take a look at those cases, both the referenced cases seem to include actual abuse of an actual minor, then they incurred extra charges for the images.

Obviously, we’ll see how this goes, but these details jump right out at me.

@EscBoy I had a bad experience, not entirely due to Make A Wish, mind you, but the whole think left a sour taste in my mouth.

The make a wish people came to ask my little sister and I what we wanted our make a wish to be. We weren’t informed of this ahead of time from my memory (not Make A Wish’s fault and the fault of my parents) So they arrived really late, like past our bed time late, so we were tired and overwhelmed. You would be too!

My sister was like 3 at the time, and I was like 5. We’re tired and these 2 ladies come to our house and ask us “If there was anything in the world we wanted what would it be?” might have used different words. But these ladies essentially came with no knowledge to us, late while we were tired and essentially told us they’d give us any 1 thing we wanted. (one each)

Obviously we couldn’t think of anything, hell even now if I hadn’t spent years thinking about the hypothetical of this sort situation happening again (it won’t) I wouldn’t be able to either, even now.

Well, not only all that, but we were being rushed to pick something right away (partly Make A Wish’s fault.) While my family should have informed us, these ladies should have come earlier and planned on giving us more time.

Noticing the tired and easily influenced minors couldn’t think of anything, the 2 Make A Wish employees (Make A Wish being a Disney company) wanted to propose the cheapest cookie cutter wish that costs them virtually nothing.

They offered us a week vacation to Disneyland, Naughts Berry Farm, The Wild Animal Part, Legoland, Seaworld, and some Zoo. First 3 were for my wish and the latter 3 would be for my sister. (though we’d both go to all 6)

We said yes. Mostly because we were tired and this wish was being heavily pushed on us.

The actual trip Sucked, I’ll get to that later as that isn’t at all the fault of Make A Wish and was entirely the fault of others involved.

Realistically, make a wish didn’t really do anything wrong, this was all fine. Though they shouldn’t have arrived late, like they were late even for when they were supposed to be there.

I just see kids now adays getting like full fledged YouTube channels and like a Million Dollars and shit, and I’m like “fuck, we got ripped off!”

I would say that I’m happy we went because my sister passed on 2 years later due to (entirely preventable) liver failure caused by medical neglect. (The medications they were giving us was killing us.)

I wish I could say that, but like I said the trip sucked. (Not Make A Wish’s fault)

I think we have 5 days and 4 nights. or something like that for our stay.

When we went to the animal park and the zoo all the animals were sleeping, so that was a bust. But like I said, not the fault of Make A Wish.

Where we were really ripped off is from our home care nurses who took care of us throughout some of the trip. I think there were 4 nurses which alternated, 2 for me and 2 for my sister. 1 for each of us, different people for different days of the trip.

Well atleast one set of these nurses thought it was unfair of us to cut in line. I guess us dying actively of liver failure wasn’t a good enough excuse to cut the line. Instead, making us stay in the very hot summer weather and wait in line like all the healthy children.

Employees of the park would see we were Make A Wish and practically beg our nurses to let us ride the ride and cut in line. Nope, they refuses, that’s not fair to the other not-dying kids.

So most of our make a wish days were spent in long miserable lines in the heat. I don’t even remember any rides, and I remember enjoying the hotel room more than the parks.

Except for 1 day where my brother and sister took us. When we told them that our nurses didn’t let us cut in line they were (rightfully) FURIOUS. But it was like the last day at that point and was too late. Not that the nurses would have done anything different.

So, yeah, I just have bad memories of the Make A Wish experience I got, though it’s not actually the fault of make a wish for the most part.

I’m just shocked they didn’t try to eliminate medication, that’s the first thing you’re supposed to do. They only took me off of it about a couple weeks after my sister passed. Almost immediately solved the whole liver failure thing.

funny how that works, wish they were like 1 month faster though.
