Interstellar (2014)
A weird little alternate timeline movie with some pretty neat ideas. Unfortunately it keeps getting dumber and more implausible as it goes on (for reasons mostly unrelated to science fiction). It's still enjoyable and a pretty good popcorn movie if you don't think too hard about it.
I like the robots they use as well. They have a deceptively simple design that doesn't try to imitate humans but still provides interesting and efficient utility.
Small ding: whoever adult Murph is is a really bad actor.
(small spoiler) larger ding: the climax of the movie being someone looking at a malfunctioning watch and unlocking the secrets of the universe from that.
Neat movie though. Bit of an unusual thing for Hollywood to make.
@RustyCrab Loved that movie when it came out. So many fresh ideas I've never seen before and a good soundtrack. And the story was pretty emotional too.
@RustyCrab Yeah, and that what makes Nolan the best. He always brings an interesting concept to the table.
I really hate schema-f marvel movies. Whats the point of watching, if you already know everything it's about from the movie poster?
@RustyCrab I guess paradoxically if woke companies fail then it means we are getting close to the collapse of the government which made them push that propaganda in the first place... which is a good thing. if we can survive that...
Just makes me nervous. Things are falling apart.
@binkle@RustyCrab Probably not. Once you hire the troon and wokies to run your HR department it's basically over. They decide who gets hired and you are left with a company that is woke because thats what the employees want.
Your CEO would have to fire a lot of people (possible) or let it burn to the ground and start a new company.
@RustyCrab@binkle it's not a bad thing if companies fail. Reform or replacement, no big difference in the end. Just as consumers we gotta stop being so attached to IPs.
Let go of elder scrolls & fallout & star wars.
We can make new movies with not-luke killing a not-death star. It doesn't matter.
