@RustyCrab there is never any budget for making things faster... Until they get so slow that something timeouts. Then suddenly it matters.

Here is an idea: make every web request auto timeout after 1s. Call it the world's first 1fps Webserver.

@RustyCrab nah. From XP I can tell you: it's umoptimized database access. Seriously that's it. 80% of time is wasted accessing the database. (sorta like how a CPU wastes most time on loads)
The frameworks usually only have brain overload (my brain from trying to understand it all)

Conway's law is true. I work alone with barely any supervision. My code contributions are also trying their best to have as little to do with the rest of the code as possible. I write little fortresses of solitude in seas of contradictory madness. And those fortresses need to be defended! Tower guards made from assertions. Castle gates made from restricted interfaces. Comments left as warning signs to not touch my stuff!

@RustyCrab Actually, I don't really. Our company is very - uhhh Agile? We can all talk to each other whenever we want. We are also only like a handful of people.
Biggest issue for us is lack of domain knowledge. Half the time we have no clue what the words the customer uses even mean. Or how it all works together. This leads to a lot of very weird naming and bad logic, once you actually understand what things are supposed to mean.

I am legitimately dumbfounded. There is no obvious writeup anywhere on Unreal's internal architecture. This is the most used engine on the planet and the most I can find is bot spam and an old shut down wiki with hardly anything left on it.

I think the autistic version of physiognomy was debunked. The one were you take out a measuring device and measure the distance between certain points on the face to tell how intelligent the subject is.
Once again autists took a simple thing: "judging people by how they look" and utterly ruined it by trying to measure everything

Thinking hard about replacing my lan-cable with Wifi for my desktop pc.
Running the cable in such a way that it doesn't trip up the vacuum, will require drilling a hole in the wall and getting that cable crimping equipment.

Wifi is good enough nowadays right? Or should I fight for the cable?

This little one goes for 7€. Kinda ugly. Kinda tickling my autism.
The card is interesting. In English it says: "always shows she cares." which is meh. But in German it uses the word "herzlich" which is the adjective of "Herz" which means "heart". So lemon hearts "is always very hearty". Here hearty in the sense of friendly, not strong. Love how it makes a lot of sense and fits well in my language, but doesn't work in English. Fate has decided.
Too bad that the model itself is ugly.
