@theorytoe if the error handling is just checking the output to a second variable, like i've seen all the error handling code do, than that's a lot more elegant than importing an entire library just for errno.

Lots of decent tooling and libraries for stuff like that even if it is a bit of a meme because who writes cross platform desktop applications on anything but Electron anymore?
a really funny thing about the fediverse is that the people here don't harm the fediverse at all, they don't influence any decisions made on big mainstream fedi software for the most part. we just chill

@RustyCrab@theorytoe@kirby whenever I see threads of supposed expert opinions on forums like hackernews, I always think of how they were claiming it'd go offline within the week back when Elon fired most of the staff. Now if someone brings it up they claim that it occasionally going down is what they meant.
