@binkle Yeah, it was what I expected. He has point that most of GG2 is just outrage grifting. And maybe the mob does not get everything right always.
His explanation for why games are woke, was because more woke people work for game companies.
So yeah, pretty much the centrist "lets all just be adults about this" view.
I disagree. So far it's always only been going left. At some point you gotta do the unreasonable.
Obviously GG2 won't accomplish anything. But at least it shows some defiance.

Nah, I'm even more based than that.
Women on average are weaker, less intelligent and perform worse under stress. Thats fact.

Pretending they are equal in our war fiction to male soldiers, while in the real world for real wars it's only men who fight is fucking insulting. So while men do everything our culture's heros better be 50% female otherwise a woman might feel unrepresented and cry.

I am on my last remaining straws with malwarebytes. In the new version they're not only promoting their VPN more but it has degraded my laptop's performance severely too (13900hx). Turning realtime protection helps but I have a feeling it probably nerfs it even if you do that.

I need some sort of AV because this is a work computer and supply chain attacks are a thing. Is there any good anti malware these days? (Windows defender is fucking awful and makes your computer run like mud so don't say that)

what I might end up doing is taking my dearly beloved L shaped glass desk and butting it up against my wood desk to create a U shaped setup. Then just getting a secondary smaller desk for gaming setup (don't work and play in the same place kids). Might look too jank though idk.

Reverted most changes to culling and went back to the old system. A few days of work down the drain... but using some concepts from the failed test the old culling solution went from 7ms to 0.2ms.
Also added saving/loading back.

Now next step is adding the lighting algo back.

Maybe I should make a separate account for this. Wish to share some screenshots, but can't tie it to this account... sucks

Finally finished the movie. I think I mostly followed it but knowing LITERALLY NOTHING about Dune lore going in I think I should have watched Part 1.

Film is very kino. Well shot. Good action.

The technology is arbitrarily weird and scifi-ey. Why are they using phonographic cylinder shit to record messages? Why are they sword fighting when they have guns? Way too much disbelief required to be suspended in many parts.

I am still not sure why they destroyed the tank of Paul's friend??? what the fuck was that?

Good movie though. Fun to watch if you don't overthink it.

@RustyCrab @Inginsub Really? It's been a while since I read it. The Harkonne only appear at the beginning, successfully doing a raid on Arrakis through careful scheming and at the end when they get overthrown.
The book is primarily about Paul getting to know the fremen and learning their ways.

Harkonen is definietly meant to be a stark contrast to atreidis. They scheme, are tyrannical, glutenous, psychopatic, sexually deviant.

I guess in a way Dune is also about good people winning against bad

Paul fucks off into the desert and is alone there for years till he comes back with the fremen to take over.

Kinda like Mohamed if I think about it. Didn't he get exiled from some city, only to come back later to take it over?

It's all very islamic.
I guess the movie needed more action?

@RustyCrab @Inginsub yeah, the first part is very exposition heavy in the book. The book makes it work I think, but it's not doable in a movie.
Some books are just not very good movies. Stark contrast to something like star wars which is a movie movie.
